1992 toyota 4runner - water temp guage not working

1992 toyota 4runner - water temp guage not working
4runner warms up and puts out good hot air in the cab, but the guage never moves off 0. Im new to the 3vze, always had 22res. Where is the sensor for the guage located?

It is up on top the engine it is a Yellow wire with a green stripe.
