Smile 2007 4runner speedometer disconnect

I am interested in the easiest and simplest method for disconnecting the speedometer from a 2007 4runner 4x4 limited edition w/ automatic transmission. I have read about wheel remotes, mechanical cable, and vehicle speed sensor in the transfer case. I would like to know if their is such a thing as a speed sensor in the transfer case is their a connector associated with it that I can simply disconnect? If a connector exists how can I identify it? What features might I lose by disconnecting? I prefer not to do anything behind the dash or console.

Thanks in advance
