I have (2) 92 4 runners and was wondering if I can do a easy v6 swap out of one of them into a 88 pickup?

 

You can do it, but it's not easy. 22RE and 3VZ had different motor mount locations on the frame. There are some other differences that some research may reveal. Wiring, fueling, brake components, drivetrain, etc.

I'm not sure if the Chilkat 22RE-to-5VZ conversion mounts would work.

 

Thanks. The 88 pickup came stock with a V6. Are the mounts and wiring harnesses still different?

 

The mounts and most of the wiring should be the same. They changed things mid way through 92. A few connectors may be different but the big change was from a spring to a hydraulic timing belt tensioner.
