Who makes the new Longfields?

au·then·tic [aw-then-tik]
adjective
1.
not false or copied; genuine; real: an authentic antique.

I apologize in advance if this sounds bad ,I buy quite a bit of stuff from Trail gear but gotta let people know about this if they don't already know,
The new" authentic". Longfield axles that TG is selling are NOT the same Longfields that folks prior to 2014 we're receiving, they are no longer built by RCV to Bobs original specs by RCV But by who knows? so who knows what your getting.I bought a set of the new. 30 spline axles and. Once I contacted RCV About specs on axles they told me they are not supplying axles that trail gear labels"authentic"Longfields as of Jan2014.
Its a great price for a set of 30 spline axles with the hub gears and hub flanges but be honest about the axle not being authentic,as in "produced by original company" . Trail gear ,buying a "name" then rebadging an axle is not being honest, legal yes ,I guess but still not sitting well with a few of us .

RCV is taking care of warranty on all pre-2014 Trail Gear "longs." Jyst FYI. So if you have an old long that failed, don't send it to TG, call RCV.

I'm a little pissed that I was deceived. I guess I should have known better than to tryst TG.
I'll be getting a pair of RCV's with my custom length inner shafts as spares for when these TG birfs fail me.

Oh well, that's life.

After I ordered the TG axles I went to the RCV page and their axles were $599,actually cheaper for the real thing! But without the hub gears or flanges.

Yeah, I have an issue with how Trail-Gear has deceived their customers, myself included.

They are not made by RCV like they have been for a long time, those are the axles people who originally gained trust in Longfields purchased.have no clue who makes or how good the new "authentic" brand owned by TG longfields are.But it's like you have been buying Colt or Glocks for years and have built trust in the name, then one of the companies sells their name to a,b or c company then they say what ever they make is an authentic Colt or Glock pistol but it's not.decieving not "Authentic" per the definition above.just raising awareness that's all, still a good price for 30 spline chromo axles with the flanges and hub gears though

Wish I would have bought these insteadhttp://www.rcvperformance.com/produc...sku=CVJ2851-PU

question is, will they warranty it when you blow up stock hub gears, and destroy the end of their rcv cv in the process.

the entire thing has been discussed to death at pirate: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/toyot...d-no-more.html

i think that longfields(built by rcv) used 300m on the internals, so they are a bit stronger, and they are reputed to have slightly more articulation capability.

tg has been selling cv/axle sets for awhile now, so it'll probably be the longfield name on same product that they've been selling for what, at least a couple of years now?

how many times have you ever heard of tg cv/axles breaking?

yes and RCV has been supplying Tg with dirty thirtys and Longfields up to 2014,The New Longfield that TG is selling is either an "in house" item or who knows but neither is a RCV built axle anymore,It may have been discussed on Pirate but customers on here need to Know that the new axles are not "Authentic" Longfields just a rebadged whatever /whoever builds them now axle

I bought a set of RCV's with RCV inner hub gears and I love them. Got them from Davez Offroad and I'm glad to know that I have the "real thing"
