1st gen steering wheel

You'd think this question would have been asked/answered in the past but I can't seem to find anything.

Anyone know if a steering wheel from a 1st gen 4runner would fit a 2nd gen 4runner?

I found a wheel I'm interested in purchasing but would want to ensure it fits first.

Thanking you in advance.

I beleive at least the stuff on the back for the turn signal cancel switch is all different. You'll also obviously lose your steering wheel controls for cruise control if you have that. Long story short, should bolt on, but would require modifications for 100% functionality.

The cruise control doesn't work so I'm not concerned about losing that functionality. Thanks for identifying this as I had overlooked it.

Can anyone else confirm for sure if a 1st gen steering wheel would be a direct bolt on to a 2nd gen? I have a wheel I'm interested in purchasing but don't want to drop 2 bills if its not going to work.

Moved to correct section.

Buy a cheap one from the junk yard to confirm or deny.
Dropping $20 might save you $200.

I ended up ordering a Grant wheel from Amazon. This requires installation kit 3584. Based on my research, this kit only works on 2nd gen 4Runners. 1st gen uses a different kit. Therefore, I've summarized that a 1st will not fit a 2nd gen for those of you wondering.
