No power to interior ignition fuse 96 Tacoma

Hey I have 1996 Tacoma with a 2.7L. I drove it to work just fine and tried to start it at the end on the day and it wouldn't turn over. Assuming the problem was electrical I replaced the distributor cap, the rotor, and have replaced the coil. After no luck I did what I should have done from the beginning and checked for power at the module for the distributor. No power. So I double checked the ign fuse under the good and in the cab. Both fuses are good. However there is no power to the ign fuse inside the cab. When a jumper wire is ran the ignition works and power is restored to the module, and I think the truck would start. Is there an inline fuse that may be blown or some common reason this may have happened?

Welcome to Yota tech!!

Is that the only circuit you are having a problem with ??

Just what was your problem??

You state it would not turn over meaning a no crank condition which is the starting circuit not the ignition!!

Do you mean it would crank (turn over) but not start ?? That is the ignition

Signs of Physical damage to any of the wiring??

Anything different happen on your way to work??

Huge puddle bigger then normal bomb crater you drove into without slowing??

Yes, that seems to restore power to everything further down the line w/o power.

Just what was your problem?? The truck won't start.

It would crank yes, so I knew it wasn't the battery, or the starter, but it wouldn't fire, and when checked there was no spark.

Signs of Physical damage to any of the wiring??
None apparent.

Anything different happen on your way to work??
Nothing out of the ordinary while going to work. It was about a 25 mile drive on pavement, on a clear no rain no snow morning.

Huge puddle bigger then normal bomb crater you drove into without slowing??

About 3 or 4 weeks ago we did go play in the hills, and hit a few large puddles. But it's still been starting and running fine. Within the past week and a half we have had 5 days with snow accumulating to 12". The truck did great, never had any problems and I drove it a lot- not playing just commuting. The snow had been gone for a few days when my truck died.

Thanks for responding!

I don`t have the EWD for the 96 The one I have is the newer engine with the coil packs.

Have you checked for a open (blown) Fusible link as they most often power the ignition fuses.
