4cyl manual trans. slipping with only 28kmiles

I have a 2010 tacoma 4 cyl. with a manual transmission and only 28k miles. Seems that periodically in 4th gear the transmission will slip when under a load condition. Funny thing is that it doesn't always happen - just when I'm going up steep hills on public roads or entering on to the e-way. Toyota says the drive train is warrantied for 60k miles or 5 yrs - but dealer says they don't want to give you the bad news that the fix likely isn't a warranty. Any ideas what to do. If I bring it to the dealership to do an assessment, I wonder if they're going to charge big bucks just for that? Sure would appreciate any ideas before I bring it into the dealership.

Sounds like the clutch is slipping. It should be covered under warranty. It is part of the power train.

Thanks Scuba, I'll get the truck into our dealership and see what they say.

Yup, should be 100% covered by the dealer.
