I have an 88 pickup 2.4L it was running perfect until i replaced the water pump on it. After i had it replaced i tried to start it and pull it out of the garage and it wouldn't start, after trying for about 15 minutes it finally started but ran really rough and eventually just idled down and died. My original thought was the timing was off so i retimed it perfect and it still wasnt running. I found a hole in a rubber boot on the air intake line to the EFI but i sealed it and it still doesn't run. Any thoughts?

 

update: it starts at random and will run at idle, but as soon as i touch the gas it dies
