Heater Controls 1984 p/u

Hey, have a dumb question about the heater controls in my new to me 1984 p/u. Purchased it during the summer and now that its cold and I need to use the heater, but can't figure it out. Can I get heat to come out of the dash vents? I get heat out of the floor option but when I put it on the bi-level option it still blows cool out of the dash, even on full heat. The little diagram shows two blue lines with two red lines underneath. Does that mean it will only do cool through the dash vents? Also has a vent option which is printed in gray. Does that mean outside temp only? Like a true vent in 50's and 60's cars?

Thanks

If the control rods that are connected to the heater control doors in working condition, then yes. Move the lever to the farthest left to the dash vent position and make sure that the drivers vent vane itself it in the open position. There is a vertical knurled wheel right next to vent of both the passenger's vent and the driver's vent. Make sure it is in the open position. The driver's vent and passenger's vent also serve to defrost or defog the side windows.
