88 4Runner no power - fuel pump?

To make a long story short, having trouble with a barn find that had a rebuilt 22RE motor installed approx. 15K ago. Ran fine at first, recently crapping out. Starts & Idles fine, runs up through 1st but no power in 2d. All cylinders firing at idle judging by pulling wires 1 by 1, feels like fuel starvation at higher load.

Truck sat for 10 yrs., but drained tank and changed filter when motor was changed out. Very high probability tank & pump bracket / send unit are rusted.

Filter had lots of rust in port facing tank. Changed it. Pressure measured at 32PSI, no flow number though. Would that pressure level cause symptoms? From what I gather is should be in the 40+ range.

Trying to pull pump to check it out but fitting on supply line is corroded and removal is proving to be difficult w/o breaking or kinking line off bracket. Any good sources for a new 4runner bracket?

Spec is 38-44psi at idle. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...87fuelpump.pdf That means the pump is able to put out even more pressure, but the FPR is dumping the excess. So if your gauge is accurate (32 is "kinda" close to 38) you probably do have a pressure problem.

You could try putting the fuel return line (from the FPR) into a container and just run the pump with the diagnostic connector. Fuel should be gushing out of the return line, but if your pump is wheezing at 32 nothing will come out. And your fuel rail is stuck at 32 (not 38-44) and even at idle you're running lean.
