my new 79 swb toyota pickup
Picked this up out of killeen. Its a 79' 4x4 short wheel base 4speed. Front and rear have been re-geard to a 4.10, also has new weber carb and new starter. either going to get a 22r swap and 5speed, or a 2kt(i believe thats the engine code) diesel swap.
As for the body, its fairly rust free, surface rust in most spots, but nothing major rusted through, interior its pretty clean as well.
Need to find a donor toyota cause the last owner kinda hacked the wiring up :/ blinkers dont work, fuel gauge doesnt work, bright lights dont work as well as the headlights dont work.
Dont know if i want to do a custom dash or try and source out a bunch of OEM stuff to leave it as stock looking as possible.

It may not be the direction you're wanting, but have you considered just keeping the 20r and upgrading to a 5 speed? You could desmog it, which would make that engine SOOOO much easier to work on, and help clear out a lot of your wiring issues. Then, if you were up to it, you could order a DIY wiring kit to make your own harness with the then limited amount of electronics present in your engine bay, as well as being a way to clear up all of your interior/exterior lights, etc. If you plan on swapping, you'll have to do something like that anyways..

Also, you should be able to find your missing electric bits on eBay, Craigslist, autopartswarehouse, etc. Just google what you're missing and you'll likely find it. Good luck!
Btw, sweet little truck! I'd love to have it as a project..also some money, haha.

OP- if you this thread moved to the regular pre83 section send me a pm and I will move it for you.
I think you might get some more pointers in that section on your wiring issues.
Nice score!
