99 4Runner Limited build

I may be starting this Build thread a little early. But what can I say the Toyota Bugs has bitten me and infected me. I say it is early because I have not even purchased the Vehicle yet.

My plans are I have found 1999 Limited with Factory Elocker with 140,000 Miles from a dealership for $6900.00. It is an Automatic. Looks to be in good conditions front driver seat has some cracking of leather.

First Question does this seem like a fair price?

My plans I want this to be a daily drives and a trail and hunting rig. Future plans if all goes well. ToyTech 3 inch left kit with transfer case drop and 31 inch tires.

Would this setup be a pretty good trail rig. with a little off-road ability

How good are you mechanically? BRING A MECHANIC. If not, ask to take it to the closest reputable mechanic shop. if they say no. back away really fast. I believe that is a good deal to a point. I looked at a 3rd gen runner for 4600 that was complete !@#% under the hood. my mechanic saved me. I finally bought a 97 5 speed 3.4l SR5 with his go along for 5650. Runs perfect with 184k. Ask when the timing belt was done, I believe they're supposed to be done every 80k miles? check the frame for rust, don't be afraid to get dirty. could save you money. limited with factory e locker is nice though. If I had that money i'd knock him down what I could, make sure it runs good and get it after all the looking.

Sounds like a decent price depending on where you are. Maybe high if you're in the rust belt.
I think you mean front diff not transfer drop. 31 inch tires are a little small for a 3" lift. 33's or 285/70r16 is a better size.
Welcome to the addiction!

This is my rig. 3 inch suspension lift with 285/75/16.
these are 32.8 inch tires. Or 33's. They fit no rubbing. I love them.
