Follow-up on previous thread on Yota project truck.

I posted here a while ago about getting an old yota for strictly offroad use. However, while I'm still going to college, my parents don't want me having two vehicles. I'm going to sell my truck I have now to get an 83-85 with the 22re (Solid axle and fuel injection) to take over as my transportation/trail truck.

I believe the EFI(22RE) didn't start until '85, which is also the last year of the Solid Axle.

An '85 with a 22re? That's a unicorn. Basically what I'm saying is that you're going to either have to choose between fuel injection or a solid axle, unless you can find an '85 with a 22re or find a newer one with a solid axle swap...

...that or buy one with IFS and then SAS it after college like I plan on doing.

'85's with 22RE's are more prevalent than newer models with 22RE's around here. I guess it just depends on the area.
