Hey everyone seems like I spend too much time here wish my truck wuld run for at least a week withoiut me haing to work on it LoL. Heres the deal I changed the thrmostat, all hoses out about a week ago and about every time I go anywhere in it after the motor(22re) warms up it will start getting a littl hot after about a hal mile it will go back to normal and that will usually be the end of it till I go somewhere again.Anyway today it startred that and the guage got about halfway and wouldn't come back down got to the house it was hot!got it cooled off enought to open the radiator cap wich by the way is where the water goes when it does get hot. after getting it open it was low but get this the resavoir was plum full to the brim with coolant.Why did it not pull it out of the resevoir when it started getting hot and losing water? After I shut the engine off water spewed up out of the adiator everywhere like an erupting volcanoe so what could be my problem?

 

Just wanted toadd that the tube going from the resevoir to the radiator is clear

 

You could have an air leak. Could just be a bad radiator cap. A few possibles.

When your coolant heats up, it will expand, pushing it into the overflow tank. As it cools down and the coolant contracts, it should draw it back into the radiator.

Check your actual temperature with an IR therm. Also, check to make sure you've got all the air bled out of the system. Due to the low cost of a radiator cap, I always suggest replacing it. Check the filler neck as well, make sure it is clean.

I generally don't trust the gauge on the dash for much more than a reference. Also, how does your heater work?

 

I had this issue once. I installed a new hose on the coolant lines that flow through the throttle body. However, I didn't use a pre-formed hose and pinched the line which caused a TON of back pressure. I removed the cap and the same thing happened, fluid gushed out.

Check your new hoses and make sure they are not over bent and restricting the flow.
