Been searching and all I've really found is wiring harness' for the swap and people putting whole thirds into newer 4runner rear ends. Is there a way to put the tacoma locker into the older (92) rear end? I have a spare third that I want to put it into and ill swap it in when it's finished.

 

I have an E-locker in an 88 4cyl 4x4 rear end and about to do one in my 84 4x4 front end

ok, so you take the whole third, and drill the housing. i understand it now. so for a harness, i can just shoot a pm to 12voltguy or go through marlin. then it basically is just on a switch?

 

There's a butt load of info on how to do this.

Do the wiring yourself.
Pay someone to do it.
Use all the factory controls for the locker.
Buy a harness.

 

I bought the plug from low range and built my own harness its not to difficult

id be willing to build you one if you don't feel up to it!

 

I will let you know. Won't be looking into it for another few months. I have some other things on my list first lol.

If you did search you'd know you need to drill, tap, weld, cut the rear diff and also hammer out the indent in at the back of the housing if its a 4 cyl housing.

 

Above link, which I bookmarked, states step by step of all if that. You are super cool all-knowing. Does that make u feel better?

I'd feel better if you threw in a "sir" at the end and handed me a shot of vodka.

Please realize your question gets asked at least once a week. It gets old having to repeat the same info over and over and over when 98% of the time the question can be added onto an existing thread so it doesn't clutter up the board.
Just take your time with the taps and drill to make sure your new studs line up straight.

My new (assumed) job is to point out that if you search on Google for something like "elocker 4cyl rear end yotatech f116" you will get much better results. The "f116" limits your results to this forum.
