Finding Parts for a 1994 Toyota Pickup

Hi:

The next project I need to do on my 1994 Toyota Pickup truck w/ V6 3-slow engine is fix the passenger side door. Right now, it will not open from the outside, and the window only rolls down about half way. When the window is down, you can not open the door from the inside or the outside. I think that the clamp holding the control link broke off, which is causing the issues. I will confirm which exact part I need once I open the door, up but my question is where can I buy something like that clamp? it seems like a pretty specific thing. I have attached an image of the parts I think I will need to order.

If anyone has any ideas, let me know!

Be sure to measure the rods first. (something like this http://www.harborfreight.com/6-inch-...per-47257.html is indispensable!)

Be careful not to drop these inside the door; you can't get them out with a magnet!

Spare Parts for 1994 Toyota Pickup

Thank you, scope103, I will measure the control link so I know which clamp to buy.

In general, if I need small parts for my Toyota Pickup, where should I look for parts? Ebay? I've been looking for a tire iron for the truck since mine was stolen and now I can't raise or lower the spare tire platform under the flatbed. I keep going to Ebay to find one but nothing ever turns up so If anyone knows of a good spare parts place for old Toyota trucks please let me know!

Good advice. But you don't have to suck up. There are three things you can do that will endear you to any counter-man:

Bring along the printout (like the one myers_jas has, or just the page from the online FSM) with the part you want marked.

Always write your VIN right on the printout. Parts are sometimes different by year and model in hard-to-predict ways; the dealer's computer is designed to always hit the right part if you start with the VIN. So even if you think you know the part number, give him the tools to check that for you.

If you can get the part online, printout the page with the prices. Don't expect them to match it, or even get very close (they're called "brick and mortar" for a reason) The dealer often has a "walk-up" price and a "mechanic" price; if he knows you'll order online to save $20 he might give you the lower price. Particularly if you look like you know what you're doing, and aren't likely to come back saying "I ordered the wrong part."
