89 3.0l died while idling, now has no spark

Help!!!! I was out on the trails with my 89 4runner, it's a v6 3.0l, and I think it got hot (possibly the thermostat) as the radiator was warm but motor was hot and top hose was burning, but we were idling down a hill and it just died, then wouldn't start back up. Would crank and crank but would not turn over. Cracked the fuel rail to make sure it wasn't the fuel pump. All was good and gas went everywhere, but we figured out it wasn't getting any spark, the distributor rotor was turning and we had power to the coil but wasn't getting spark from the coil to the distributor cap. Had an extra coil so I tried swapping those out and still no go, I have had this for 3 years and haven't had any issues with it dying before. I can't seem to figure it out, so I am hoping someone can help. Thanks in advance and if I can answer any questions to help solve the problem just let me know.

Ok went through figured out I blew the 30 amp fuse that gives power to the ECM, changed the fuse and she came back to life. Drive around for about 30 minutes did fine, got on the road got about 5 miles away and it died again, fuse was blown. Anybody know what could be shorting out causing that fuse to pop?

Which fuse are you talking about?

I've heard (on this site) that shorting the O2 Sensor line to ground will blow the EFI fuse. I'd start with a visual inspection.

Ok update, it is definately the EFI fuse, found a schematic with the fuse panel, as apparently they used a fuse panel found in most 88 models on my 89. (fun) So now I am trying to find the reason for the fuse blowing, its a 3.slow and most of the threads I can find with this problem are from the 22re. It is supposed to be a 15 amp fuse not 30 so that raises questions right off the bat. The truck doesn't have any 02 sensors that I can find, nothing in the exhaust that the wiring could be getting hot and messing up anyways.

Any other ideas that could be causing this fuse to blow? It will run for about 8 miles or so, it idled forever, but once getting hot and driving for a bit it will blow the fuse.
