Get in... Turn key... Nothing... Then suddenly it starts... Wierd?

Hey guys, ran into a little problem with the yota yesterday. I got in and turned the key, and nothing happened. Just silence. All the electronics, lights and guages are working fine, but nothing happened except a slight buzzing sound. Then i turned the key again, and it started up fine. Once its hot, it starts fine, and this problem has only started as recently as yesterday. Any guesses on what to check? Starting with cleaning the battery contacts and checking the voltage, but has this ever happened to someone?

It would help if you included model, year, engine.

sounds like ignition switch (correct me if I'm wrong toyo experts) but mine did same thing, luckily people who had it before me h ad a switch set up for when it does that, like a bypass to the solonoid to get the starter to engage when key was in run position, here lately though the push button switch needed you to hold it in the "sweet spot" and got quite annoying, I replaced with a rocker switch and starts up flawlessly everytime!

You aren't pushing in the clutch far enough, or the switch for it is going out.

Check your ground too. Follow the negative battery cable from the battery to the other end. It should be clean and tight. Might need to replace your battery cables also.

this is a link to alot of useful information for mine, if you notice it begins on top starting about the starter contacts, mine was a relay issue but maybe it'll point you in right direction. I'm no pro at all this but definately not a noob either
