Omg. What a pretty truck! Sadly, I don't believe those roll bars will work for what you are looking for. They have odd dimensions and won't hug the back cab line like I'm sure you'd want. Of course, I could be talking out of my butt, but from what I've seen, they don't work well without some major modifications.

4runner bars bend back lika jeep, the top of the roll bar would be about a foot away from the top of cab ,but for life saving proposes it would work , i think it might also fit under a camper. Lowe's sells and bends 2inch steel well casing its got about a 1/4" thick wall if you want to build your own

This is the bend I was talking about on a 4runner also the front mount is shorter then the back mount. It wouldn't be hard at all to make a rollbar tho and by making your own you can add spare tire holders, jack mounts, speaker mounts, and as many lights as your heart desires

I also want someone else to try it before I do lol

4 Runner bars do not really work on first generation trucks. You can modify anything to make it work but looking at your truck's photo and the great condition it is in why not do it right. There are 1st generation roll bars out there, you just have to look and on this form "parting out 81 trucks" one of them has a roll bar. Check it out. Some 4x4 dealers have old stock in their warehouse and so do some manufacturers. Just keep searching and you will find what you are looking for. Believe it or not there are first generation truck parts still available from Toyota.

4runner bar won't work.
Are you talking a bed mounted "roll bar" (term used loosely)
Or an internal cage?

That is a nice looking truck. I would leave it stock..
