Sweet nice find, I have been looking for a way to add power to my 22RE.

 

No price on the website, have to call. I know what that means, "If you gotta ask..."

 

that's what i was thinking...would be a mad piece to have under the hood but the "call for pricing" says alot for how cheap it prolly is...but ya never know, someone should call just to see how much....

that's a completely different supercharger than the one LC offers isn't it?

 

I assume it's the same one since most of the stuff they sell comes from LC Eng.

 

It'll be the same price as the turbo kit according to Carl (or Chuck, I can't remember). I talked to him about a year ago when they were still working out the bugs.

 

For that price you'd be halfway to a 3rd gen!

 

As much as I love the 22re, somehow that looks like 10lbs of sh$t in a 5lb bag to me. Not to mention, according to their various engine kits listed, you can get more HP out of one of the non-supercharged engines for about the same $.

 

If it cost that much money, I should just put a 3.4 and S/C it, Or a Supra motor.

 

Yeah, I saw that in I think this months peterson's, I'm not sure if thats the mag as I don't read it too often. Man thats just a rediculus price. Could probably put two stock 3.4s in. I was hopeing that it would be about 1000-2000 range, cause I'm not able to anything due to lack of a garage and lack of a welder (that may change soon though).

 

That supercharger is cool and all, and like my 22re. But why not put a real engine in the truck for probably about the same money, the chevy 4.3 (v8 is too big for small space). You can mile a he!! of a lot of power out of that thing, easily 250hp and 325ft.lbs. and more if you want it. Eventually thats my plan, that and an NV4500 tranny. The 22re is just way too underpowered for my taste. just my $.02.

 

i'd put a 3.4 in before i'd ever let the gm cancer touch my truck...

i've always wondered why superchargers are so insanely expensive. seems like far too much money for such a simple device

 

i called LC engineering a few minutes ago to clarify the prices for these kits...the guy told me that for the 22r they had kits ranging from $2695 to $3800 which i think was a long block and supercharger...i think that's what he said so don't bet ur life on it...and the 22re kits aren't released yet but they will be $2795...

if that includes a long block, that would be a steal at lc engineering's prices...somehow i'm thinking that's just for the S/C though

 

yea he was naming off several kits for the 22r....anyone thinkin bout tryin of the these out? i mean the price is less than half of what we previously thought...if i wasn't on a budget because of school i might would consider it...

 

I wonder if it's possible to get the LC engineering supercharger from the manufacturer directly? If I remember right, I believe they're based in So. Africa.

$6525.00 for only 170hp not including the header? No thanks! I'd rather do a twin-cam 3RZ? (2.7) 150hp Taco swap with a TRD supercharger for less $$$.
