3s-GTE swap into a 88 sr5 turbo p/u?

Ok so I haven't seen too much in the ways of people doing this swap so I wanted to ask what was needed to do the swap with either a 3s-gte or if I go crazy enough a 7m-gte (Im more partial to the 3s just because of weight and space). Anyone know of anyone who has tackled either of these swaps?

Correct me if i an wrong, but i recall the 3S-GTE isn't oriented in the correct position in its stock configuration. So, I think the 7M-GTE or even a 2JZ-GTE is going to be a more common swap. Whether or not you can get it mounted to a bell housing to mate it to a 4x4 transmission is going to take some research and perhaps trial and error.

From what I've read the R150 transmission is a direct bolt although the engine will sit kind of cock-eyed and my truck is a 2wd 5spd.

If that is true, i may be interested in the 3S-GTE as well. I'll have to do some googling when i get home.

Saw this so Im pretty sure its doable. I dont think its a pickup but if that orientation can be done in something smaller there must be a way to do it in a pickup.

my 85 pickup with 7mge swap has a bellhousing adapter to mate the tranny up. from what ive heard the 5spd tranny that came with those 22r/re's is almost the same as the 5spd in the supras

I'm hoping to avoid the 7mge/gte just because of the distribution of weight. If I can in fact put a 3sGTE in I can keep the weight closer to the rear and pull the 400hp I want with a good turbo and some internals. I'm more into the idea of having a sleeper on a budget kind of thing.
