Have inherited from Dad his long bed 22R RN which has run well with 225K so far. Had a little bit of chugging, hesitation recently and tried to determine cause. Checked for fuel filter in places suggested here but can not see it. Used mirrors, lights etc and no can find.

Are there some of these that have the filter in the tank?

 

As far as I'm aware of the fuel filter on a 22R (carburetor) for this section of the forum is directly in front of the right rear wheel. Just past the sheet metal the makes up wheel well.

There is a fuel screen in the tank but not a fuel filter, unless it's aftermarket.

 

Thanks for the information. I repeated the search and found it just where you said. Was covered with a lot of road detritus.
