1988 toyota 4runer help!, start and runs for 3 sec then dies. completely stranded!!

ok so i am completely stranded in spokane, wa visiting my gf!!!! last night i started and drove my runner a couple blocks and it was running fine, then it started to run poorly and misfire, thinking that i had maybe fouled a plug or something i truend around and parked over night, found oil in the cap, cleaned out and replaced the rotor, replaced the coil wire, strted right up and i thought all was well, until it died after three seconds. had to strip some speaker wire to jump the diagnostic ports (haha). got codes 24 31 41 42, and 51, i have no tools and i really dont want to tow this sob back to north bend wa (4 hrs away) any input much appreciated!!

Does Your GF have a new boy friend in town since your 4 hours away.

When was the last time you had cleared your codes??

Your going on a 8 hour round trip with no tools

I sure hope it was worth it.:jessica::jessica::jessica:

You might get lucky and some one close by might feel pity and rescue you.

With out tools I can only say check for loose or unplugged connectors or burnt wires.

Loose ground connections battery terminals

look at the AFM check the circuit opening relay it seems the fuel pump is not staying on

You didn`t run out of gas???:jessica::jessica:

It sounds like it might be the fuel pump. Will it stay running as long as you spray starting fluid in the air intake?
