1993 4Runner running on 3 cylinders...HELP

Hey Guys,

I have a 1993 4runner 3.0 V6 Automatic that is currently only firing on cylinders 1, 2, and 5.

I bought the truck with this problem for next to nothing with hopes of fixing it -- the story I heard was that a high school mechanic shop replaced the motor and could never get it running right.

Here is what I've done so far:
-Compression test -- 140+ on all cylinders
-Made sure distributor timing was set properly
-Removed timing cover and made sure timing belt was set correctly
-checked each plug and made sure each was getting a spark
-used a screwdriver as a 'stethoscope' to listen if injectors are opening
-made sure all spark plug wires are routed correctly.

I'm starting to think it's something related to all the vacuum lines. Could the VSV vacuum lines cause a misfire if they're not routed properly?
