Intermittent low rpm at idle?

Intermittent low rpm at idle?
From time to time my rpms drop to 400-500 i was curious what the possible causes could be for this.
Could this be caused but my distributor my coil resistances are all good but the ne pick up has a an air gap of .1mm when the service manual says it should be .2-.4mm
