spindle bushing grease job

spindle bushing grease job
Hi, I am attempting this task without the "special tool". I do have a needle grease fitting. The questions I have is: Are the internals of the front hubs supposed to be completely packed with grease? Or is simply smearing fresh grease on the bushings/bearings sufficient? Any other tips?
