2002 4Runner Rack and Pinion Leak...

A couple weeks ago while at the gas station I noticed some grease under the driver side axle and wheel. I checked my CV axle and they where fine. I didn't have time to work on it with my new job so I took it to a Toyota dealer here in town. They could not find anything and said most likely I ran over some grease on the road and that's what I saw under the truck. They checked the front diff and said the oil was good.

Well today I had time to get under the truck and check it out. I believe I found the leak. You can see where I am pointing. The clamp was loose and I could turn the rubber boot by hand. I can see at the bottom of the boot that there was grease coming around the edge.

I cut off the old clamp and I am going to get some stainless steel hose clamps to fix it. My question is do I need to pull this boot back and put some grease back in?

Picture.

Thanks for the help.
