Havent installed my jdm engine yet and im worrying...Ok so I'm looking through my lower intake with a flashlight, or plentum I think, and all the intake valves have normal buildup except one. And that 1 is super clean. Is this something to be worried about? I know blown hg can vaporize coolant and instantly polish valves pistons etc, but this wouldnt happen on an intake valve right? Somebody please rub my back and tell me it's gonna be ok!

 

They all get heated, they're not immune. It may be from servicing. It may have injested some water, or carb cleaner or it might just get cooler oil. It might just be special and wearing it's superman undies.

Run a compression and/or leakdown, it'll make you feel better.

 

its out already. why not just change the head gaskets now and be sure?

 

If I were you id change the gaskets out to be sure. Its a 3.0, those gaskets will eventually blow. Could be 2 years from now could be 2 days. Give yourself the piece of mind.
