3.4L engine build?

3.4L engine build?
Hey I just thought I would ask what you would suggest for an upcoming project.
Before I leave for college (in August), and while I have access to a shop and tools I would like to have a new or like new engine/tranny.
Plans are to find a 3.4L engine, take it to the machine shop, and get a supercharger for it, and replace anything that's messed up with it.
Questions are:
Bore it out? If so how much?
With a supercharger, what parts would need to be upgraded?
Any way to rebuild or improve the transmission?
What parts are better OEM vs. aftermarket?

Also THIS MIGHT BE A BETTER PLACE to post, as your post doesn't pertain to a 3.4 swap at all.
