Hey guys im new here and just bought a 86 xtra cab 22re for $1500. Did i get a good deal on this? not too much rust other than the bed. 134k miles. Got it cause my gmc got 13 mpgAnyway, the shift linkage seems a little off because shifting into 2nd if you move it too far it hits the tcase shifter and makes it buzz. also, the first shift into 2nd when its cold it grinds and then every shift after that is fine. Any ideas?

 

Start by replacing the shifter seat and bushing. It also won't hurt to change the fluid. Be sure its a GL4 oil. GL5 is not recommended in these trannys
