1995 Runner won't start, but I don't think it's electrical
Hey y'all! Basically, my best friend called me today saying the 4Runner wouldn't start. Since I was the one that sold it to him, he figured I might know the issue. I had just replace the starter & it would try to turn over but just wouldn't fire. We towed it back to the house & the only thing I could think of was that the oil was low & the rig was registering low oil pressure. After adding oil, the rig turned over & fired up. My question basically is what could be the issue? Is there a safety sensor or something that won't allow it to turn over in order to keep it from overheating? I don't think it's electrical seeing as the starter is fine & the battery is charged, but I don't really have an explanation as to why it'll suddenly fire.. Thanks guys!

Unless you or someone else added some after market engine protection system there are none from the factory.
At least to my knowledge.
I would think someplace you have a loose connection. That in moving the vehicle got bounced enough to make a better connection for now.
