So I have a 1984 pickup 22R and it has been shaking violently when I drive it. It seems to be firing incorrectly because I loose a lot of power when it starts shaking really badly. When it's idling it doesn't sound like anything is wrong and when I'm driving I cant hear the engine because the car is rattling too loudly. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. If there's any other info that might be useful just ask.

 

have you check to see if your plug wires are in the right order?

 

if it only accures when youre moving it could be drive line related. we will need alot more info. as dale said, wires, have you had the wires off recently? was the truck running good before and this just started or did you just buy it this way? can you do a compression check?
