rims for 3rd gen 4runner

I am looking to replace my factory rims, but after a search I have a few questions.

I read over another toyota forum that some 16inch rims wont clear the calibers on tacomas. I wasnt sure if this was the case for 4runners as well.

I'm looking at the pro comp extreme series 52 rims. They are cheap and IMO look much better then factory, and will be a good host for 33's.

does these rims work with our trucks?

That depends on the back spacing.
Tons of threads on tires/rims.

back space is 4inches.

I have no idea what that means.

you copied Wabbit's first sentence, but missed the second: "Tons of threads on tires/rims."

this is one of the most exhaustive subjects on YT. no doubt a search could be overwhelming, but that's how you learn (how i learned most/all i know about the 4runner now). there are many variables when fitting tires of all sizes with rims (especially non-oem).
use google- yotatech will most likely be the source of hits that are returned to you. that's the fun of it!

welcome to yt!

you can always go to tire rack web site and select wheels based on
year and model vehicle
...they will only allow ones that will fit OEM brakes
and wheelwells into your selections. then you can figure the range of sizes and offsets
that will work

and if you're planning to do a brake upgrade, please read the sticky on the brake upgrade and plan your new wheels based on that. There are some wheels that won't fit on bigger calipers.
