Dr. Z's Dyno Donation

I talked with Dr. Z tonight about his silencer intake mod. I wanted to see if he still liked it and if he had a chance to Dyno it yet. He currently has the pipe out and is getting it powder coated.

Well, he doesn't really want to spend over $200 for the dyno of a mod that cost about $40. So, I proposed the following solution to him. We take up some donations. Personally, I am really excited about this mod and I am kind of surprised that it didn't raise more eyebrows here than it did. If we could get 20-30 to put up $10, it would more than cover it. I figure we could just mail him the checks for it.

Would ya'll be up for this? Later.

Matt

I would send him a couple bucks for doing it. I am interested in seeing the gains, then we will know for sure.

Let me see..... $200.00 on a dyno test that will show in figures the increase this product will make in power. Then as a result, many units are sold to the guys on this board because it has been proven to be a good power increasing mod. So, within the first 3 months, theres lots of money made just from the folks on this board. Much more than enough to pay for the dyno test. Id say $200.00 for a dyno test, if it even cost that much, would be worth it to me if I were looking to mass produce a product and advertise it on the internet. Just a cost of doing business. Just increase the asking price of the product by $2.00 and with the first 100 units sold, you have made up the cost, and each individual is out only bucks instead of 5 bucks. But, thats just my 2 cents worth. Im sure some would disagree with me and some would agree, but thats just how I see it. Not ment to flame Dr Z, just my thoughts.

I don't recall Dr. Z saying he was going to try to sell this mod. It would be a little impractical, seeing how he has already posted a write up, including part numbers etc. That's the kind of info you'd want to keep to yourself if you were going to try to sell it.

I'd chip in.

Hrmm..If I were in the U.S. I say I would chip in some dough. Being in Canada, your $10 is my $20, not to mention mailing costs which would also be more.

Sorry Dr. Z & LSU...not to be a cheapo on ya but I'm also currently not working.

It's Cheap!

It's a cheap test. Go get the materials and try it for yourselves. If you like it, keep it.

I can't imagine your going to see THAT much on a dyno. It's like K&N showing you the 7hp or whatever increase. Did any of you actually FEEL a difference in you truck?

I have a K&N and didn't.

IMike
This is what I wanted to say, but felt it would have been rude coming from me.

Thanks Mike.

By the way, for the folks who want the dyno tests done, I found a shop that will only charge $100. I don't really care one way or another. If you guys want me to get it done, I have no problem with that, but I just don't feel the need to spend $100 of my own money to test something I feel works already and am happy with.

I'd spend $50, so if I get half, I'll do it. That sound pretty good?

You can use PayPal to send me money. My email address is: osr_two@yahoo.com

Lemme know.

Dr. Z
