Inchworm V6 to geared t-case adapter - extra hole?

I've called a couple of times but haven't gotten anyone so I figured I'd ask here.

I just got my adapter kit:

http://www.inchwormgear.com/collecti...se-adapter-kit

But it looks a bit different to the image:

Firstly it's flat on the transmission side, but more importantly there is a through hole over the counter shaft bearing in the crawl box. You can see one of the ball cages through it in the above shot.

Now the install instructions include a diagram which seems to have that hole marked:

http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/014...Tcase.pdf?3995

And it says:

"Coat the entire surface of the transfer case that will contact the adapter, including around the bearings, with sealant to prevent oil leaks. Not just the perimeter."

But wont that hole let all the oil out of the crawl box past the bearing?
What am i missing?
