new to independent suspension and add hubs but i got a 93 toyota with add hubs and i was wondering if i put manual hubs on it will it make it to where the axles dont turn all the time. and are they a direct replacement.

 

Yes & yes.

There are two different hubs with different spline counts. Check with MarlinCrawler or WabFab....

What about all the vacuum connections? Are they still necessary?

 

Irrelevant. Vacuum actuates the diff.

I literally just did this about a month ago, and it really is that simple. Took me maybe 30 minutes including taking the wheels off. My cv's don't spin while I'm driving unless the hubs are locked. If the hubs are locked the ADD works just like it did before.

I'm putting new cv axles in next week so I expect to see them live for a while after this upgrade

 

i have been having a hard time finding stuff on this site with the search button. but thanks for the help. the reason im asking is because my bearing on the right side is going out and making a lot of noise and i dont have time to change the whole differential right now although i do have a manual hub diff for it.

 

Sometimes it is easier to find stuff on this site using google. Just add "yotatech" into the search string. It's helped me a few times when the regular search button didn't yield results that would help me, plus it will still get you results on other sites that are helpful.
