1988 Toyota SR5

1988 Toyota SR5, 22RE EFI. help, at witts end.. Truck had been sitting since 1998. Rebuilt motor, new fuel pump and cleaned tank. Started and ran for about 15 minutes, died and hasnt started since. I replaced the following; plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, distributor magnetic coil, coil & igniter, ECU. I have no trouble codes, I have spark and fuel pressure but no injector pulse when tested with NOID meter. Will not start with ether. any other ideas. Also new fuel pump and filter, All grounding is verified correct. What else can i check?

What is the P/N of the ECU you put in. if you replaced it i would check that first. then the AFM. one other thing you can do is check if the wiring is corroded in the harness. I experienced this first hand and it took me a bit to figure it out. there is some connections within the harness that will eventually corrode and break. if you see my build thread there is a good example of the corroded wires.

teeth missing on dizzy gear on distributor shaft

I think i found why my truck wont start.1988 Toyota SR5 22RE efi, found 4 teeth missing on gear, on completly. Is that why? Did the pieces most likely fall into the pan? Can i assume the gear it meshes with is still good? Any help would be appreciated.

if it was me i think i would go ahead and do the timing chain, water pump etc.
and pull the pan to find the missing metal.

at the very least you need to pull the pan and find ALL the missing metal that is loose in the engine.

you also need to find out why the gears stipped,.
did the dizzy lockup or what?

good luck!
