Question Will there be a PNWYJ04?

I am eagerly waiting any and all info on if there will be a PNWYJ in 2004. I dont dare say the actual name of this event being some FS clowns may be spying on the board incase the events name is brought up. So will there be a PNWYJ04 this year?

We'll just post that the run will take place at The Pit and meet at "that other place" instead! <evil grin>

I ferget what the time-frame was for the permit. Seems like it might be worthwhile to ensure this goes down...

As lame as Ranger Dandy is, as long as we follow the rules he has no recourse.

As long as we play by the rules, anything he does against us would just tarnish his name (as if there was anything left to tarnish ).

Any good locations around N. Bend? That area is so beautiful. Blue

Hardly...
I think down by the Greenwater is one of the only areas with enough room for this...as there would probably be a big turn-out.

Also, if people wanted to camp over...

I wonder if it is possible to have the Jam on the west side of the mountain, say somewhere off FSR 70. I know when you get up there there is some big open areas that could hold a lot of people. Then we could wheel over to the Little Naches area and people could camp if they wanted. By the time everyone got over there it would be a disorganized event

We should all chip in and buy a few dozen acres somewhere...get the zoning right...and have a WA-Yotatech playground.

The organizers folder has been reactivated and there has been a small bit of discussion along these lines, but nothing concrete yet.

My opinion is that we have two best bets if we want this to happen.

1. We need to file the paperwork and find the cash to reserve the group camping area. That will take care of some of the Forest Circus objections, in particular, having folks in an organized camp with sanitation. Of course, it also gives our favorite Forest Circus Nazi a chance to turn us down then.

2. Hold the event at the West end of the Naches where the rangers don't have an anti-motorized use bias like Ranger Randy's boys.

Option 1 is my favorite because it put camp on the East side for all the reasons we discussed last year. It also takes care of having sanitation in camp. But, it gives Randy a chance to do the same thing to us all over again.

Option 2 has the advantage of shutting Randy out completely, which, with his anti-motorized use bias, is an advantage. But, it puts us further from the trails we might want to run and increases the chances of rain.

I would be willing to help fund option 1. It may help if it was split up into two camp areas under two different function names??
