Brush Guard/Taillight Guard Poll

What's up guys. I've been toying with this notion for several months now, but I was buying a house so the mods were put on hold for a while. I've been considering getting a black powder coated brush guard and taillight guards and having them painted Millenium Silver Metallic to match the color of my 4Runner. I don't want stainless steel because I think they look ghetto, but that's just my opinion. Ya'll check out the pics of my truck and let me know what you think. These would, of course, only be for appearance. Later.

Matt

I say go for it. I would have painted mine also, if it would'nt cost do much.... I have the Manik grillguard and tails and have had no problems with them.

I have been having the same problem....The thing that has been really holding me back is some of the pictures I have seen of brush-guards after an accident and all of the additional damage that they cause instead of preventing. In my own oppinion I feel that they are mostly for looks. Don't get me wrong, if I run across a good deal on one I may get it but otherwise that money is going into my "supercharger fund".

I vote for manik if you do get one though! I think that the powdercoating would look good, and it would make your rig stand out...I have thought about doing that with my step bars (except in Gunmetal). It is a good idea!

i had a waag brush guard for a while. i liked it...for a while. i take my runner offroad, so that's why i got rid of it for a tjm. when i bought it i thought i liked it and it'd be all i need. i was wrong.

BUT since you said you only want it for looks, then it's an option. with that said, i'd reommend the waag. it seemed like a quality product and it fit well. i didn't like those headlight "protectors" though, so just had the center portion on mine

Notice the lack of banner ads and pop up ad windows when visiting this site. By contributing, you help keep it that way. Nothing odd about it.

Any brands ya'll are partial to? Manik, Waag, Go Rhino, Dee Zee....... Someone at work mentioned that the paint may not bond properly to the black powder coating. Doesn't really make any sense to me. What do ya'll think? Later.

not too sure about painting them body color but if you like it then go for it! I have the WAAG and I love it, I totally recommend it. Mine does shake a lot so hopefully they added upper brackets to it since the 1st ones didn't have any.
