2002 Tacoma 3.4 Rough Idle / Chugging Problem!

I've got an 02 Tacoma 3.4 and yesterday it threw a check engine light as I started it up, but then ran fine for the 5 mile drive home. My brother disconnected the battery (I wish he wouldn't have) for the night and now the check engine light is gone.

When I start it up, it has a very rough idle, doesn't rev up to the typical 1500rpm cold start, stays around 1000 rpm then down to 800/750, and then the engine begins chugging and seems to misfire, eventually "bogging" down and out. Any throttle and it immediately bogs/dies out.

No recent work, no recent problems, just started out of the blue on startup yesterday. I don't have a code I can read since the light is now gone. Any advice on what this may be?

Here are two videos... One just idle and one idle w/ revving.

You may still have a stored code or pending code for the CEL. Stop by a Autozone, etc. and have them scan it and post up the code if one is stored.

Have you checked the oil? Coolant? All vacuum hoses attached and not cracked? Spark plugs?
Last timing belt, idler pulleys, and water pump change? Thinking a frozen pulley is creating resitance on the timing belt possibly.

Is this a new vehicle to you?

No, I've owned the vehicle for the past 30k miles. The timing belt, water pump, and serpentine belts were replaced about 10k ago. Engine now has 94k on it.

I would take it to autozone, but I can't move out of my parking spot. I'm calling for a tow truck first thing in the AM.

Are all mechanics shops able to pull codes, even mom & pop places?

My bad....it's tough to drive when it dies at idle. Guess I was thinking you could feather the throttle to keep it running.

Yes, they should. It's a simple OBDII reader.
