22r fuel coming out valve cover???

Hey yall I have a 85 pickup and its blowing fuel and oil out the valve cover like crazy. I repaced the mechanical fuel pump and no luck. I dont know much about these motors and was hoping someone else might know more about what it might be. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

did u do an oil change after u changed the pump? it could be filled with gas and so its building up the pressure and pushing it out still. or could be a bad pump.

No I picked up new oil and filter but i didnt want to change it out till i knew it was fixed cuz i didnt want to ruin the new oil. It starts shooting oil out about 5 seconds after it actually starts. You think if i run it for a few second longer might get all the fuel out then stop?

how much gas got into the oil from when it was leaking? have u pulled the dip stick and looked? gas will thin out the oil and so spots that normally didnt leak will and if its over full it could cause it to leak in spots u wouldnt think of. i say change the oil and then see what happens.

I just drained the oil which was more like just gas with a bit of oil. Im gunna leave it out there draining for a few and try to crank it and see if fuel is still getting in there before i put new oil in it.

u might want to go and get some cheap oil and run it threw to help clean the gas out, put it in and run it for a few to get all the gas out of areas that just leaving it open wont get to

What your discribing sounds more like excessive blow by caused by worn piston rings.
How many miles are on your engine ?.

justin_4runner you were right. I drained out a couple gallons of fuel and oil out of it and then flushed it out with a couple quarts of oil i had in the garage then drained it and did a oil change and it worked fine. Thanks for the help.
