Smile fuel pump 87 pickup whoo,s

Ok so hears the deal finally got my new weber 38 carb installed. Idles good went for a short drive about 2 blocks and it died. Towed home and replaced the fuel filter. Started up ran for about 15 min idling rev it up and notice the filter is a clear one so i see the level drop drastically until i let idle for a min. So it has a stock fuel pump that is mechanical. I was trying to decide between mech or electric. If i got electric i am om a budget so i find a MR Gasket 4 to 7 psi pump and a Mr Gasket regulator. Heres the problem with this setup there is no place to hook up fuel return line to the tank. So can i cap off return line or what. Will a 3 line fuel filter work . Also Weber recomends 3.5 psi since i put bigger mains in it would i need the regulator anyways. Ideals or input anyone thanks

Yes you only need electronic pumps for fuel injection.

the electronic fuel pump for fuel injection is rated at 38 psi which is way to much for a carb. However i ordered the airtex intank at 5 to 8 psi 50 gph should be fine. will let you know when it comes in
