20r vs. 22r

Hey sorry if someone already asked this question but I was wondering if a 22r engine will bolt in to a truck that came with a 20r i.e. transmission 4-speed, intake, header, motor mounts, ps, you get the idea. I would like to have what little more power the 22r came with without changing everything. Hoping someone can clear things up for me .

Thanks!

ive got a 83 22r in my 80 yota.https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f114...0-yota-252661/ check out the pics, maybe it will help.i think the exhaust may be an issue with round and oval ports.i also have the l43 4-speed,looks like it bolted right up.

Just use the 20r head on the 22r block, then you can use the same intake manifold and exhaust, the 20r head has better flow than the 22r because the 22r has square-ish intake ports and the 20r has round ones, , and the 22r block has a larger bore than the 20r,
i have a bored and cammed 20r in my truck and it runs smooth as silk, and as far as the tranny goes it should just bolt right up.
