I just purchased a 1983 Toyota Mojave from the original owner.

Been scouring these boards trying to find some tips and trick for sourcing parts.

Tomorrow I am taking of the bed to POR15 the frame and tackle some rust issues with the bed.

The PO had a bed liner installed 2 weeks after he bought the truck, and the old liners never fit the whole bed. I guess he use to take away his grass clippings and some of them got under the liner. Well, over the years these clippings accumulated and got wet and created a rust problem between the bed and liner.

The truck is in decent condition but needs some help.

A rare truck indeed! Has cruise control, Air Conditioning and a factory sunroof. Not to mention a 5 speed transmission.

 

Wow clean looking truck, how is the interior.

 

Door panels need some attention, the dash is perfect and not hacked apart. Sunroof is tight and does not leak a bit. Seats were replaced, they look like Recaros.

 

I love the retro brown give me some history of this "Mojove" edition talk I'm interested.

Well they came with the turbine rims, tubular rear bumper, cruise control, and a pop up sunroof installed from the factory. Also a "high end" for it's time stereo. The rear tailgate is also factory void of the big toyota imprint. All it has is a Mojave decal. It also has a leather wrapped steering wheel. The AC was a dealer installed option on mine, which I have the receipt for also. The were also factory undercoated.
