New to me 1980

I just got this truck for 2k. I plan on fixing everything and making it like new again and keeping it stock. First I need to make it road worthy again. Does anyone know if 1983 parts will work on an 80. Like the body panels and interror parts.

majority of parts from 79-83 are interchangeable, the only differences being in 82 they changed the front grill/ headlights, they also changed the style of the interior in 82. If you want it to look like it does but better, look for 79-81 parts. They also changed over to the 22r in 81. Hope this helps ya.

A good looking 79-83 bed is like watching porn to me.

If you want some kind of power I would keep it, even if it needs work you could easily get a rebuild kit. Also if you try to go back to a stock one you'll need all of the emissions carp and run all the vacuum lines more of a pain.
