Looking to replace my stock shocks and maybe raise my 98 4Runner 2.7l RWD up by 2 inches in the future...what would be the best shocks to start out with? and build up from there ?. I was looking at Bilstein heavy duty shocks, but i dont think i will need "heavy duty" as I don't drive with heavy loads in my car very often. What are your thoughts on "KYB" shocks ?

 

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of KYB's. There very stiff and take a while to break in. I'd go with the bilstein's. Lotsa guys running them on here, including my little brother with his 2000 tacoma. I'd have thm too if I could figure them out for the front.

 

so i guess i should just go with the "heavy duty" bilsteins because I have heard nothing but good things about them. also what do u mean when u say "you can't figure out the front"?
