truck still shaking

1993 22re, front end rebuilt, aligned, tires balanced, new u joints. dropped the drive shaft and ran it with the front locked in and it was smooth, took the shaft and had it balanced, and it was in fact out of balance. put the drive shaft back in and we are back to shaking. if in fact the drive shaft is balanced and true what is the problem?? anyone have this happen to them, help please.

Did you unlock the hubs?

With mine locked in it has a slight shimmy at highway speeds when the hubs are locked

Looks like your last thread was erased, as I said before, you are unclear on which driveline was removed and balanced but from what I can gather is that you-

Removed rear driveline and drove the truck in 4wd with just the front wheels powered and the shaking was gone. You balanced the driveline and reinstalled it and the shaking returned so you have narrowed it down to the rear end causing the problem.

Edit: looks like in this one you said the u-joints were replaced. Have you checked the diff fluid? Does the shaking move if you rotate the tires at all? They may be balanced but could still have an issue with a bad tire.

nothing had been done to the rear end, everything is stock. i haven't checked the fluid but will. yes it was the rear drive shaft that i took out and had balanced. i ran it with just the front tires locked in. i know my tires are unevenly worn but it's smooth without the drive shaft. any other thoughts?? differential bearings?
