How hard???

How hard is it to relocate the front shackles of the rear springs? I really want the long travel All pro's but they require the relocation of the shackels forward 9" or so. I have no experiances with leaf springs and all, but I would rather do everything on my own, someone let me know how hard and intrical the work is. thanks in adcance.

The work is easy if you can weld and have a 4" grinder. Most people just buy some new front spring hangers (for the front of the rear springs) from Toyota and weld them on in front of the originals. You can cut off the old ones if you want, but it's hard to get them off in good condition for re-use. The rear shackle hanger needs to be moved as well, but it's not too hard to cut it off with a cutoff wheel for the grinder and weld it back on further back. You will need to move both pieces if you want your axle to stay in the stock location. The front needs to be moved about 6" and the back about 3". You'll probably need longer shackles since the longer springs will have more movement than the stockers.

DO NOT MOVE YOUR SHACkLE HANGERS BACK! if you do you're gonna hate your shackle angle! I moved mine back 2.5" and the front forward 6" and my shackles were straight up and down!! I moved them back to the stock location with Jonny joints and I'm sooooo much happier!

Heres a pic of them now

Well then what do you do when you get longer springs front and rear. I'm going to get the All Pro Long Travel 4" lift springs and they are much longer than stock. What else is there to do with longer springs? What are other options?

I hate my Johnny joints! They allow the rear end to move way too far side to side. The body doesn't come back to center when it should.
