90 4WD 22RE cuts out at Highway cruise speed

90 4WD 22RE cuts out at Highway cruise speed
My son's 1990 4WD pickup cuts out at highway cruise speeds. Runs fine under acceleration and idle but cuts out again when he returns to cruise speed. Truck has 10K on OH'ed engine, OH'ed trans. Would appreciate any input.
