I have a 1991 4runner. I'm getting my license this summer when I turn 17. My dad has had the car since he bought it new in 1991. He changed the muffler or whatever makes the exhaust noise and it is really loud. Too loud for my liking. How much do you think it would cost to get a quieter one so it's like the stock sound? I want to know about how much before I ask him if we can do that. I'll probably pay half since it was my idea.

When I need part numbers or a price on auto parts I get on Autozone's or O'Reilly's web sites just fill in the blanks for vehicle info and look up your part.

 

I gutted my CAT & put a bone stock Toyota exhaust on mine....$129 from the dealer for a cat-back. Sounds good!

 

Do you have to pay a mechanic to install it?

 

Purchase a muffer "OEM" yourself and have an Exhuast shop install it... once they get to your truck it will take all of 15 mins for them to change it....

Exhaust shops are common do a little research to find one...

Old one will have to be "cut off" and new one welded on.
